Things to try

Publications on The Stacks are designed to be interactive and flexible. Here are a few things to try to get inspired. Each section below describes a feature, links to how to use it, and shows a few example publications to see it in real-world use.

Interactive figures

Embed interactive plots and databases so readers can explore your data instead of only looking at it.

Videos and other media

Figures can go beyond plots as well: audio and video media are supported as figures in The Stacks.

Figure wrapping

Control how text flows around figures with text-wrapping directives.

Math

Use TeXTeX to include equations in your publications.

Code

Include code snippets in the body of your publication with Markdown code blocks. Link to code and data as additional assets.

Tables

Use sophisticated table styling, for example with merged headers, to more clearly communicate your data.

Collapsible sections

Tuck details into collapsible sections so technical readers get the detail they need without it crowding the main story.

Feedback and revision

Ask readers for structured feedback, link the code and data behind your work, and publish new versions as it changes. Your publication can keep improving after it’s out.
